You Earned Crypto — Now What?

The earning was the easy part. This is the short version of what to do with small crypto balances: secure them, consolidate them, and — if you want — turn them into money you can spend, without fees eating the lot.

1. Get your earnings into a wallet you control

Crypto sitting on an earning platform is an IOU; crypto in your own wallet is yours. Set up a wallet for the coins you earn — a Lightning wallet for sats from games and faucets, Trust Wallet or similar for DOGE/BNB/SOL — and withdraw every time you cross a platform's minimum. Write the seed phrase down offline. Never type it into a website: not ours, not anyone's.

2. Consolidate the dust

After a few weeks of earning across platforms you'll have crumbs of four or five different coins. Pick one coin to hold (most people choose BTC or a stablecoin) and swap the crumbs into it. A swap service handles this without an order book: send coin A, receive coin B. Check the minimum swap amounts first — if a balance is below the minimum, keep earning until it isn't.

3. Swap where it's cheap

For coin-to-coin conversion you don't need a full exchange account. Instant-swap services quote you a rate up front; compare the quote against the market price to see the real fee. Solana and Doge dust is cheap to move; moving tiny BTC on-chain can cost more than it's worth — that's what Lightning is for.

4. Cash out — or don't

Turning crypto into money in your bank goes through an exchange with local currency support (or escrowed P2P where that's the norm — see our country guides). Cashing out tiny amounts rarely beats the fees, so most earners cash out occasionally, not constantly. Holding what you earn is also a legitimate choice; just hold it in your wallet, not on the earning platform.

Ready to consolidate?

Swap services convert one coin into another without a full exchange account. Compare the quoted rate against the market price before confirming — that difference is the real fee.

The one rule that matters: your seed phrase never goes into a website, an app chat, or a "support" form. Anyone asking for it is stealing from you — there are no exceptions, no "validation", no "wallet sync". This single rule prevents the majority of losses in this niche.
